It will allow them to create voice or video rooms for community members for an upcoming date and time. Every participant in the community will get an invite to the event. However, they have the flexibility not to join them.
What’s the New Community Feature on WhatsApp?
In the latest Beta version of WhatsApp (2.24.12.5), it will now send event reminders to the community members.
These reminders will be available on the community event page and include additional details like event name, date and time, location, etc. You can set the WhatsApp event reminders using the same page.
In addition to this, WhatsApp is likely to bring a new additional guest toggle button for the organizer. Turning it on will allow participants to bring guests with them.
When Will the Community Reminder Event Feature be Released?
I checked my WhatsApp, but these features are currently unavailable to me, even on the beta version.
It is most likely released for limited users for now. It is expected to be released with the upcoming WhatsApp updates on Android and will be eventually introduced on iOS devices as well.
Reminds Your Community About an Event
With the new WhatsApp community event reminder feature, users will now have three options to set reminders 30 minutes before, 2 hours before, and 1 day before the event.
Users will have the flexibility to set at most two reminders per event. With the utility of this feature, WhatsApp is likely to release this feature for a larger audience soon.
